New Faces, Fresh Spaces!

What's Blooming at PATTERN đŸŒș

Tuesday was the first day of spring! Here at PATTERN, we’re fans of fresh starts and new beginnings. Last week PATTERN’s Board of Directors unanimously adopted our new strategic mission and vision (more on that soon!) AND we’ve also just welcomed some new faces to the office!

The future's looking bright, and we hope to remind you of that in our newsletters. We're super excited about what's ahead for PATTERN and Indiana's creatives. Can't wait to share all our adventures with you!

As always, thanks for reading, and keep the feedback coming - we love hearing from you whether it’s your ideas for strengthening Indiana’s creative economy, or recommendations for us to check out some hip new spot. Have a fantastic weekend!

Reflecting on an interview from five years ago (almost to the day!) with NUVO, Polina Osherov, our Executive Director, delved into PATTERN's role in nurturing Indy's creative sector. It's interesting to see the evolution since then—what's changed and what remains the same.

Polina highlighted a critical insight during the discussion which is now part of PATTERN’s core mission: "Creatives can significantly drive the economy...How do we blend business interests with creativity?"

The interview took place while we were gearing up to release our 15th issue, also our second dedicated to music. Our aim was to highlight our local music scene, especially in light of the ongoing Music Cities study, signaling that a segment of the Creative Economy was beginning to receive its deserved recognition for economic development. Our goal was to feature a selection of local talent, reinforcing our ongoing mission to create a sustainable and supportive environment for creatives. This conversation remains relevant and insightful today—find it here!

Costumer and friend of PATTERN Jess West is opening an Art Gallery Bar & Lounge—Monsterz Inc!

Join her on March 24th for the Grand Opening and enjoy performances by some of Indy’s top DJs, drag shows, and comedy skits. The vibrant bar and lounge is a wonderful place to network with fellow attendees and, purchase some drinks, and show off a fun costume or outfit. Tickets vary in price and can all be purchased here.

What’s Happening At PATTERN

Andrew Keeler

Macy Lethco

PATTERN is growing, and we’re thrilled to welcome two fantastic people to our team! (By the way, we still have a couple of positions open, in case you’re looking for new opportunities.)

  • Andrew Keeler is our new Development Director! He is joining PATTERN in continuation of his career in the non-profit space. Most recently, he worked as Associate Director of Corporate and Foundation Relations at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. He holds a B.A. and M.P.A. from Indiana University and is currently serving as a member of the board of directors at Eagle Creek Park Foundation and Hoosier Environmental Council.

  • Macy Lethco is our new Program Manager! The Kentucky native is coming to PATTERN after working as a Grant Writer and Events Coordinator at the Harrison Center. She holds a B.A. in Linguistics and Spanish from Western Kentucky University and taught English in Spain before moving to Indy right before the pandemic. She has a German Shorthaired Pointer puppy named Van and hosts a local skateboarding meet up called Grind Culture for women, trans, and non-binary people.

We’re creating our March digital cover story next Tuesday, March 26 featuring classical pianist Clare Longendyke, and we’re opening our doors for a small number of students and aspiring creatives to shadow a professional photoshoot and interview. Click here for more info and to RSVP.

If you're a photographer in search of an affordable studio space downtown, Paradox Photo Studio at the Stutz is now open for bookings! For those who recall our previous iteration of Paradox as an event and exhibit space located in Broad Ripple's former Crackers venue in 2021, we've revived both the name and the website for this exciting new venture. 😉
