Calling All Book & Music Lovers!

Check out these two upcoming events featuring Pattern.

We know you miss us—we miss you, too! The Creative Economy Summit is coming up fast (eleven days, but who’s counting?). Leading up to the Summit, we have a couple of exciting events to get you pumped about your creative practice. Join us at either or both to learn all about print media and the music ecosystem. Check it out!

Publishing Connect: Building Indiana's Print Media Future

Hosted at Tomorrow Bookstore // October 21, 7 p.m. // $10

Is print media dead? (Spoiler alert: no.) Come learn about the state of print media present and future in Indiana with a panel conversation featuring Amanda Kingsbury of Mirror Indy, Julia Breakey of Tomorrow Bookstore, Chuck Deane of Arcadia Publishing, and our very own Jenny Walton!

This event will connect authors, publishers, editors, and other professionals working in the literary space. We'll explore opportunities for collaboration, growth, and community-building within the sector, with the ultimate goal of receiving feedback from the community on the best way to advocate for Indiana's publishing industry.

Sound Strategy: Mobilizing Indiana's Music Ecosystem

Hosted at Turntable // October 23, 3 p.m. // $15

Hosted in collaboration with IndyHub and powered by Forty5, this event will revisit the key findings and bold recommendations from the 2020 Indiana Music Strategy Study, and help shape the future of our state's music industry. Whether you're a musician, venue owner, promoter, or passionate music lover, come be part of a dynamic conversation that will drive actionable change.

The event will also feature networking over drinks, a panel of industry leaders, and a music performance by Okara Imani and The Band. Opening remarks will come from Jenny Boyts, CEO of Forty5, Julie Goodman, Executive Director of the Indy Arts Council, and our very own Polina Osherov, Executive Director of Pattern. Panelists will include Richard "Sleepy" Floyd, Matt Carter, and Jim Rawlinson, with moderator Drew Kincius.

Seriously, though, it’s been too long. We miss seeing your beautiful faces out and about, and we hope everything has been going great for you since whenever we last met up. And we hope you’ll come out and say hi at these events!

P.S. We love these guys!
